Scholarship money for school does not need to be repaid, unlike financial aid which does require repayment of the money that is borrowed.

Scholarships for nursing are awarded based on a variety of factors. These scholarships are available for a variety of nursing programs from the RN program to nursing graduate studies. Each individual scholarship has specific criteria required to qualify for the free money for nursing school.

  • Some are based on educational status such as GPA or SAT scores.
  • Others require possession of a special talent such as singing, playing a musical instrument or ability to play a particular sport.
  • Others require proof of financial need.

Scholarships for nursing are great opportunities to help you get through your nursing degree program with less financial debt.  We encourage everyone to apply to as many scholarship programs as you have time for.  Yes, they can be time consuming but if you meet the qualifications and could potentially graduate debt free why not do it.  School break times such as Christmas break and Spring break would be great times to get some of the pieces of the applications under way.  Many, if not all require some type of essay.  We recommend you look at what the essay requirements are on several and you can often have 1 or 2 essay templates that you can adjust for each individual application.
